Sailor John Seepe is sharing an update about the upcoming 2022 Worlds in Florida
“The following message was written by me and scrutinized by Tony Pocklington, from the US 2.4mR Class Association.
As 2.4mR sailors, we all love getting out and mixing it up on the water, it’s called racing. So many enjoy competing as the class includes America’s Cup, one-design champions, disabled sailors, and sailors across all age groups.
There is no better way to test your skills than sailing among the most accomplished sailors in the unique opportunity of a World Championship. The 2022 World’s are quickly approaching, and you still have time to register! There are still excellent boats available to charter, so we must ask you, why haven’t YOU signed up to come yet? We have competitors from Finland, Italy, Great Britain, Puerto Rico, Guatemala, Australia, Canada, and the USA. Would love to see sailors from additional countries like Sweden, Norway, Netherlands, Hong Kong, France, Germany, Poland, Czechoslovakia, Russia, Spain and others.

The event is at a great location easy to fly into and in sunny Florida! Davis Island is a fabulous yacht club in the protected area of Tampa Bay. It doesn’t get much better than this folks!

Last year in Warnemunde Germany my wife and I enjoyed our first World event. I enjoyed meeting and sailing against some great sailors while spending quality time bonding off the water as well as on the water. We both are looking forward to making this year’s event and seeing those we met last year and meeting others. Skills are developed and the opportunity to see new places is a side benefit of the event. We are even making plans for next year’s World’s in Finland!
